My supercharged 2016 Limited 5.7L FF is currently at my local Toyota dealership in service and they can't figure out the issue. When getting on the freeway and driving at WOT the engine bogs out completely at around 4-4500rpms. I have to let off the gas a bit and reapply pressure for it to pick back up and keep accelerating. It only does it when you floor it and only in the upper RPMs. Also the truck had trouble starting the other day from a hard start in the cold. I had to pump the gas a couple times to get it to fire up.

Originally i thought it was the fuel pump but they said it tested fine and the pressures were normal but volume was low while under load. They checked the MAF, regulators, changed the plugs and it still hasn't fixed the issue.

They're going to drop the gas tank and check the sock on the pump or the internal filter but haven't heard anything since 10am PST earlier today.

Anyone have any other ideas on what it could be or has anyone experienced a similar issue? Figured it was worth a shot asking before speaking with them in the morning..

    Thanks in advance

My knee jerk response is - it's a flex fuel, yes? Check the alcohol content reading; N/A flex fuels are known to keep bumping that number up when not running high ethanol fuel. The motor over fuels (thinking you are running e85 or some high blend of ethanol when it's not) and bogs, or over fuels when starting and is hard to start.

    What tune/tuner do you have?

    First thought was fuel flow...

    They found volume was low.

Either that or if the system is returnless then the driver module is not sending pump correct rpm signal.

Fuel pressure regulator if system is return style...

First thought is to use TS to read the live data while the problem is replicated. Fuel pressure, air-fuel ratio, retarded ignition - all can be read in TS.

It's the tune that came with the Magnuson TVS1900 supercharger kit. I haven't done a custom tune or anything like that.

Is that something a sensor being replaced could fix or do you think getting a OTT custom tune done could correct the issue?
