I recently added a TPMS sensor to my spare tire. I reinitialized the system, but the spare was not detected.

I then used a Launch brand programmer. It detected all 5 sensors and input them via OBDII, but the spare still did not show on the dash.

So I hooked up Techstream and thankfully, it has a popup when you go into the TPMS system to turn the spare tire on and add its sensor ID. Added the sensor ID and it now shows up. Much easier than the process on the 2nd gen Tundras.

So if you add a spare sensor, write down the sensor ID first unless you have a programmer that can detect the ID wirelessly and then use Techstream to activate.

I know at least one other member had his spare showing (https://www.tundras.com/threads/tpms-in-spare.129619/), but it was unclear what steps were taken. Hopefully this helps for other users like me that run a 5 tire rotation and want a sensor in the spare.
