For all of you long time experienced Tundra owners, is it worth buying an electronics warranty?

My offer is in and I own the ‘21 5.7 Limited Crew Cab, pending a test drive this weekend. It comes with a 7 year power train only warranty.

The dealer wants to sell me a 8 month electronics warranty for $2,500 or a 60 month electronics warranty for about $3,800.

‘Is there a value to getting the electronics warranty? The vehicle price is already stretching my bank account.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! No need to buy from the dealer. Are you sure it's not an EXTENDED warranty? That is a VERY high price for a warranty just for the electronics, and I don't think I've heard of an Electronics Warranty.

$3800 or even $2500 is a LOT of beer. Absolutely no extra dollar on any stinking warranty.

LA - lower Alabama. Never heard that one. That’s good.

I had never heard of an “electronics warranty” either, which is why I turned it down pending my test drive. It might be a simple extended warranty. I’ll ask when I go back in with money.

to be certain, the “certified” warranty is powertrain only. I am sure of that. So I asked about coverage of electronics which in my mind would include things like all the push button in cabin farkles and do-dads, display screen and such. I’ll ask him for more info when I go back in.

To me, it’s as simple as covering, for instance, if the wiring to the rear view mirror adjustment goes wonky. Which on one level is humorous since I am way old enough to pre-date ANY electronic controls in a vehicle, including electric windows. It’s one reason I love my FJ so much - very basic with few fancy things to go bad.

If you want an extended warranty, you can get a much better deal. Someone on this site can set you up. I forgot his name, but you cans search for "extended warranty."

That dealership is a total rip off. Your regular warranty should cover ever thing through sometime in 2024. Listen to the man that said Extended Warranty Search. You can get a 10 year warranty for less then those prices and it covers ever thing.
