Hey everyone. I'm scratching my head at a gremlin - I'm going to describe the three different ways it appears

Way 1 - cruise control, green light set to on, cruising down the highway at 75. Cruise shuts off and the green set light goes on and off until i turn off the cruise wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

Way 2 - cruise cuts out but at the same time the dash lights up - yellow and red warning icons. The tach and speedo go to 0. No loss in power, perfectly fine to still drive. Comes back instantly.

Way 3 - all electrical shuts off. Radio turns off, gas pedal stops responding. Totally out for up to 4 seconds. It only did this to me once today.

These are all more likely to happen when the engine is cold.

It does it occasionally in park - meaning vibration is not likely the cause.

I have taken apart the entire dash three times thinking something in the cluster is loose. I have the hypertech callibrator in line and it's easy to try to point to it as the potential problem but I've had it out and all those cables are tight and snap in.

So, i ask you dear reader, what the hell.

Have you tried removing the calibrator completely to make sure the module itself isn’t shitting the bed? Otherwise I’d suspect some rodent issues under the hood. Have you looked at fuses and wiring in the engine bay for any suspicious activity? Maybe set loose the snakes and see what they find.

Check the ground under the kick panel, driver side. It sounds like a ground issue where stuff dies and comes back. Check your battery and the grounding points.

Rodent damage is the obvious thing, but the only thing I think I can safely rule out. I have been all over this thing a million times fixing the rodent damage. The weird thing is it will go days without doing it. After putting the dash back together and looking over the engine bay, reseating the ecu connector, I drove 90 miles over three days, nothing popped back up. Thought I had it. So I'd have to really take out the hypertech for a while, which as annoying as digging back into it is, seems like a good option. I drove from Michigan to Florida today. The first tank of gas, it was bad, 7 times. Next tank, didn't happen once. Third tank, happened after 200 miles cruising at 75. It really does seem to be related to temperature, does it more when cold.

Is it possible I got a failing ecu?

I will triple check the kick panel and engine grounds. Thanks for the ideas guys.
