Has anyone blocked egr and bypassed the coolant lines past the throttle body and egr. I did on mine and so far no cel but was wondering about any long term effects this might have

I've read about it in other forums, maybe on this one long ago when I first joined. Bypass coolant lines to the throttle body only works if you never see snow, otherwise it may freeze the throttle body overnight, or with colder winds. Blocking EGRs is probably beneficial as to eliminate or lessen the dirty air entering the valves on the intake side. If you get codes, then look at catch cans which keep your EGR, but only flow clean air back in through the intake.

EGR? Are you talking about the 1/2 inch hose on the intake? That's for crankcase ventilation. If plugged the ccv you may puke some oil. Was confusion about this year's ago.
Edit: and this information would be for the 5.7!

    Many on the way.
For some reason, the 4.6 has EGR.

I did end up with a cel for the egr and am going to try to hook up a catch can. Honestly after looking at the pipe going into my intake manifold and looking at the manifold before the pipe and after that ego cannot be good for the engine.. it’s just dumping carbon throughout. Makes me want to pull the manifold off and clean it. Thank you everyone for the replies
