Just thought I'd be nosy and ask how everyone is stimulating the economy.

I'll go first, as I am utterly blessed to be able to continue my job unhindered by the current events. Because of this I am trying to kick out some extra spending to help those that might be affected right now.

    So far:
Committed to the SCS Ray10 wheels (once they get my color back in stock)

Ordered stuff from Cool Springs Toyota (Roman): Black TRD Shifter, Black "Tundra" emblems for the doors, and Black inlays for the tailgate.

I will use a local body shop to have the bedside stickers and all the chrome badges removed, and put the black items on. Yes, I could do it myself, but the local body shop is a really great guy. He's is paying all his employees full time for at least 2 months whether the shop has the work for them or not, and I want to help him out as much as I can.

Potential for the rest of the month:
Tires from a local shop, alignment at the body shop mentioned above.

Really really looking at aftermarket front bumpers. C4 Fabrication, A.D.D., Shrockworks, etc. Can't commit yet, but heavily considering it.

    ESP plastic storage might happen.

Anyone have some suggestions for businesses or individuals that are being hit hard right now? Links? I don't have any social media, but others might, so post them too.

I’ve got rear pads in bound for the 4runner. I’m going to have a local family shop turn them, I’ll pay and bring them beverages. I’ve been buying lots of random hardware at the localish Ace hardware; for my bumper project, I used a local sandblaster as well. I also plan on buying some maintenance things from cool springs.

Haha, I say no. I’ve been putting all I can into my 401k.
I did buy the Salex console organizer and tray as well as some husky and max liners for my truck last week tho

Honestly, I'm not sure. They are chrome anyway. I'd be more likely to donate the whole bumper to my local body shop or hold onto it in case I ever decided to sell the truck. Though, I love it and hope I never sell it.

AJT Designs and customize the interior a little. I ordered the whole slew of items for the 14 to 17 tundra. Pre ordered the radio knobs as well.

And my sons birthday is Friday so thinking about grabbing a Kawi KLX 110 to tear up the yard on.

Not at all. Everybody has to do what's best for them, and wise money advice has always been "Pay yourself first." I am saving too, but I am also trying to share the blessings I have and help others out if I can.

No only is this not BAD, it's smart. If more people lived within their means and had emergency funds this situation wouldn't be nearly so dire for so many.

As for me, we've been getting take out food once a week from our favorite restaurant, buying to go growler from breweries, and doing some other online shopping. Not a lot though. I also made a few donations to Second Harvest and another charity out of Nashville.

The economy can suck it. I'm paying off my mortgage early, paying off my cars early, and hoarding cash and liquid assets like Scrooge McDuck.

@AzureNightmare i heard a cool suggestion. You can buy gift cards for your favorite businesses so they get the use of your money for a while and when this all blows over go use the gift cards and get the use of your money. It’ll be like a freebie to them for a while.

Blessed to still be working as well! I'm a LEO and have been hitting the overtime during this chaos.

Bought a new Kamado Big Joe Grill, ordered a new nesting box for my chickens, a new to me table saw, and a Rogue Echo Air Bike.

Thanks for your service. I just retired last August and I am still way too familiar with no holidays, no down days, and in times like this no off days. But I guess it wasn't too bad or I wouldn't be looking into becoming a firefighter haha

    Some stuff
i'm not. well not in a big way. day job handed me a 11.5% pay cut in january. yesterday, they handed down another 7.5% cut and halted 401k contributions. my studio is dead in the water right now and i'm hoping that no one else calls to talk about cancelling their contract.

that being said, there are a few local restaurants where we are going once or twice a week for take out. they're good people with good food and running on vapors too.

global recovery is going to take a long time. stressed about the studio. stressed about the day job.

I bought a couple new rods & reels, G Loomis NRX and GLX along with a Shimano Stradic and Curado. Those two combos are about $1,400 total. My stimulus check will go right back to the government for the taxes I owe this year.

I bought a couch two weeks ago, and the salesman was incredibly happy I was buying something since I was literally the only one in the store. I also (unwillingly though) had to upgrade my SolidWorks license and the salesman for that was also very grateful saying stuff had slowed down a ton for them. And finally got a haircut last week after driving by and surprised to see they were even open, turns out they have 3 people rotating through all week and everyone else got temporarily suspended, so I gave her a $20 tip.

Wouldn't say I'm going out of my way trying to spend money, I do that too much to begin with, but it's nice (albeit sad due to the circumstances) to see gratitude from people for buying products from them.

I work in oil and gas, so besides food and necessities I’m not planning to make any “fun” purchases for a good while. Everything’s going into savings or some nice underpriced stocks in companies too big to fail
