I had a water in fuel issues in truck which caused misfires and eventually limp mode. Issue was dealt with and truck runs great now but almost complete dash is lit up with lights. Used my obd reader and discovered a ecm communication failure code but it wouldnt clear it or reset .Left my battery cable off all night and still wouldnt reset . Before water trouble, truck never had any issues or codes. Dealer wants me to bring it in again and he says the water issue had nothing to do with the ecm troubles. I dont think he right because i had no issues before the water . Any tech on here that can help ? Thanks

Does the truck seem to run fine? Did it specify exactly which ECU it has lost communication with? You say ECM but sometimes that is used as a generic term.

Have you checked every fuse in the truck. ECUs that don't have power cant communicate.

Any chance of wiring damage to the CAN lines between ECUS? From rodents or some other event?

What was the code you pulled exactly?

    Welcome from NY.

Do you have a aftermarket remote starter?
