I've got a 2020 Tundy and the eBrake has always seemed a little weak to me. It's my first truck, so maybe I'm just used to sedan eBrakes?? My driveway is on a slight angle and if I have the eBrake engaged and put it in drive or reverse to exit the driveway (downhill), it's like the brake isn't even on. If I put it in neutral, there's a slow roll before a stop that feels like the wind could disrupt.

I took it to the dealership and they said everything was fine. Curious if everyone else has the same experience with their eBrakes??

Dealers can be lazy and incompetent unfortunately.

Yes, it's normal for them to come out of adjustment from the factory. You can adjust the parking brake shoes for better holding.

How far are you engaging it? It’s a manual system. Stomp it down to the floor and see if it holds. Mine will hold my truck and 8000# travel trailer on an incline

I STOMP it all the way to the floor. Definitely doesn't hold my 3500# camper.

As part of the Cement gang. I do not approve of this. Needs attention for sure.

Bedding the shoes helps bit, put it on lightly and go back and for to get some brake material into the drum. I always carry wheel chocks though just incase, I won't be one of those guys with their truck floating away down a boat ramp.

I found my 21 way out of adjustment when new. Lucky for me a couple of open end wrenches and a trip under the truck had it close enough until I could pull the rear wheels and adjust it properly. When I did finally do the proper adjustment procedure I believe the slack at the parking brake shoes was set correctly at the factory and all that was actually needed was the slack removed under the cab.
I found the written procedure on this forum.

Any chance you remember where you found them on the forum? I'm new here, but from what I understand the search function isn't great. Ha.

@Ruggybuggy Can you help this good fellow with the proper way to adjust the parking brake?

    None....
I think they are weak. Mine has been adjusted at dealer. The parking brake pedal was alot harder to press down but you could just drive away without much throttle. Honestly just as weak as it was from factory. It's the weakest parking brake I have ever used, even the Prius parking brake would make it where you had to give it alot of gas to get it to move and even then the back wheels might lock up and drag. I only notice a tiny bit of drag, if it wasn't for the beeping noise I would have drove away easily with the parking brake on.
