My 22 Limited head liner dropped shortly after I purchased it new in Apr. 2022. The dealership is telling me Toyota has a replacement fastener "new part number" but it has been BO for a very very long time. My question is, has anyone else had this experience? I image this new fastener thing is made of some sort of plastic and is now designed to hold the headliner in place unlike the original, but it has been BO for roughly 6 months. I am now wondering if my dealer is blowing me off.

I’ve had to have mine fixed twice now… the second time they said they used more heat resistant adhesive… here in Texas it’s been 107 degrees for two months.

Mattedfred, Thank you for your input. No I have not checked at other dealerships. i did however contact the Toyota customer care in Texas and had a case # started. This was about 45 days ago. I will say a few weeks ago someone from Toyota did contact me to say there were going to contact their supply chain person for a leadtime on the part but I have not heard anything since. The whole experience has been very disappointing. My dealer has told me that they are working with the Toyota field representative but no action (other than lip service) for well over a year!

Agreed and I'd like to see a pic from Jkwolfe09 to see exactly what they did to remedy the problem, toss a bone here.
I dunno,I would bet that cut down (in length)Christmas tree pins would do the trick, but then again who'd want those all over the ceiling of there brand new truck.Shit at that point use white LED's and draw up your favorite constellation.lol!
But honestly I'm also pretty sure that won't be a great trade in/selling point when the time comes.
Have them do it old fashion style, pull it down and re do it the right way or replace it.F the band aid trick with an alleged BO part, have them step up and make it right,it's not like you bought this truck from a friend and you'll suck it up.
This is hard earned cash on a brand new multi K item here.
