just picked up my Limited double cab with 6.5 foot bed. Looking for pros and cons on lining the bare naked bed of my new truck. Sorry if this has been asked, but my search did not find what I am looking for.

Molded drop in vs spray on... go

Don't do a molded drop-in. I had one on my last truck, all it did was rattle against the paint and strip it off, and it held water against the bare metal. Not a good combination unless you like rust. Do a spray on or something like a BedRug, which is what I did this time around. BTW I love the BedRug.

Depends how you use the bed. Glorified trunk with cover? Bedrug. Construction materials, dirt, grime, grease? Go linex.

Drop ins or molded seem to cause problems, maybe region/climate are factors. No major issues with mine so far on my 07. Spray ins are nice.
Definately inspect under drop in a few times a year if going that route.

Spray-in bed liner all the way. I loved my Rhino Lining. Line-x is good too. Drop-ins suck.

Quality spray in. You just paid 40k+ for a truck. Why cheap out on protecting it with a drop in liner that will scratch the hell out of your bed...

Linex all the way! Drop ins are a waste of money. They move around, scratch your truck and often cause rust issues down the line from water trapped beneath the liner.

Got rid of my drop in ASAP and found all sorts of ish under it when I removed it. Leaves, sand, dead insects, water, and a little rust forming.

Had my bed color matched with the bolt heads painted black. It cuts down on road noise and cleans up easily.

Spray in bed liner all the way. Had a plastic liner on my 2011, hated how stuff slid all around in the bed. Scratched the crap out of the bed as well, especially on the floor. I could see how it would cause rust on a northern truck as well, found a bunch of dirt/leaves/junk under the bedliner as well.

If you don't want to spend the $500 on a spray in bed liner, get an $80 rubber mat like I have, it at least keeps crap from sliding around and scratching the bottom of the bed.

Do they make a spray in that's not so grippy? The reason I have a drop in is so I can slide furniture and appliances into the bed and slide them out.

Not that I’m aware of, most people like that things slide around so much.

If you have the extra cash, do the spray in. I had the Bullet Liner sprayed and it was a bit cheaper than Line-x but equal quality.

I'll buck the trend and suggest a bedrug. Super durable, easy to clean, chemical resistant, easy on the knees, and things don't slide around. Self install.

Drop ins were what was used before spray in liners were invented. Drop ins cause much damage and catch and hold much STUFF!!!
