Drivers seat is loosing support after 17 years...

Can I just swap it with the passenger side seat or will there be problems?

 

How would you change over the arm rests and get to the controls on the side of the seat if the console is in the way?

 

The armrests look identical on both seats but the tilt control would be an issue I guess. Probly not gonna work.

 

There's a thread somewhere about loosening/retorquing track bolts or replacing the track

 

Is it just the foam or are you talking about the frame itself? Replacing the seat foam shouldn't bee too bad. You just need some good hog ring pliers, some new hog rings and some sockets to get the seat out.

I just did this to my daughter's truck. The job really isn't too bad at all with a good set of hog ring pliers. The ones that came with the seat cover kit were complete garbage. I went with these and so far would highly recommend them... a little pricey but not that much money in the grand scheme of things:

had that happen on my 06 4runner, took it to a local upholstery shop that does good work on some nice cars. Fixed it right up, $500 to rebuild the driver seat foam and all.
