Hello everyone, I am trying to chase down an issue with my 05 DC driver-side lock switch (the interior one). Basically, the lock switch on the driver door panel only works when the key is ON. As soon as the key is off, the lock button no longer functions. On top of this, the driver door key switch only manually unlocks the driver door and does not unlock all the other doors after turning the key twice, whereas the passenger key switch functions perfectly. The passenger door lock button works all the time, key on or off. All lock actuators work flawlessly, and I have no indication that this is a mechanical problem.

I am pretty new to working on first gens but I am led to beleive that this is an issue with either the master window switch controller or the body ECU. It has a brand-new battery. Does anyone else have this issue?

In times when we've seen similar stupidity to what you're describing, damage was found on the door wiring harness. I'd start looking at the wiring where it passes thru the rubber boot in the door, and behind the driver kick panel. I'd save the door panel for last.

Have you looked under the dash and around in general to look for splices that would indicate there was once an alarm installed? (aftermarket, or dealer-add)

If the problem was just the driver lock/unlock, I would suspect master sw since it does not go to Body ECU for that function, only via the Driver Door ECU. Since the other issues exist, I would suspect an aftermarket issue.

Speaking of aftermarket, I would suggest not only looking where shifty mentioned but I would remove the door card/panel and see if there's some left over diodes left from aftermarket.

Relays also. Here's one good example, if you need it, see here for more pictures in context.

I remember this case also, wherein a wire was damaged/nicked, physically inside the door boot, where it wasn't fully visible.
