Driver door hard to open

I have to pull very hard to get drivers door to open. I can lock and unlock with the key or keyfob, so I am thinking it is not the actuator. Is that what the actuator does? I am trying to avoid replacing the door lock assembly (part # 69040-0C010) which is about $250. I have lubed up what I can with WD40 and lithium grease. If I remove the assembly, could I possibly repair it?

Does anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions?
