Does anyone know if I can drill into the dashboard tray on a 2019 SR5 to mount a camera monitor? I don't know what is under the dash at that point and how close it is to the tray. I was just thinking of using 1/2 or 3/4 inch long screws. I figured I could remove the tray and mount the monitor if I could screw it down. Then when I trade it in just put the tray back.... no holes seen!

I think you’re right over the head unit without much room to spare.

Someone will chime in with the skinny soon.

    Welcome from NY.

They make a mounting bracket that fits in that spot and you can mount the monitor to that.

Someone will post the link, I've tried to find it.

There’s lots of room to get your hand in there to install a base plate for the ICS mount.
But just enuf, make sure you don’t drop a nut or screw or washer or else it’s lost. I lost one of the radio mount screws so it’s put back together with three and it’s fine.

3/4 inch may be too long, depending if you have a plate for stabilization, which is a good idea if the camera is to capture off roading time

Rago's mount is pretty. But their site does not show how cams or brackets attach to the mount. And their slots and holes dont seem to give you options on attachments.
Anyone have one and can share with pics how they're using it??

You can also get a hand towel to cover the bottom while installing the nuts. It will help you in not losing any hardware as you're installing

    Good suggestion!
I would still have lost the one screw for radio, dropped it when it was being put back on, but it’s solid with three attaching it.

It looks to be standard mounting points for ram mounts.

With the ICS mount I have the option of adding a GoPro or some camera behind the Ram Mount, also adding mounts for phone for me or a passenger. And just the Ram mount on the dash I would want to have a stabilizing support in the head unit under to better support the Ram mount.

Hey guys thanks for all the great input but I think I want to stick with my original plan. I just need to know how much room I have underneath. I like the mount that came with the wireless camera monitor. And I want to be able to remove it and put the tray back when I'm not towing my camper. I'm going similar too what thebeast said but I just want to use screws from the top so I can remove the bracket easily. I have a pro clip for my phone so I don't need to mount anything else.

I just received the Rago mount today. I was going to get the ics mount and bought the ram mounts for it. One thing I didn’t like about the ics was the inability to add remove mounts without taking off dash. The Rago addressed that and I thought it was more aesthetically pleasing. But you are right about there only being 2 points of contact. But that being said I’m going to buy the ics under part and drill for Rago. 2820E0B7-4D4E-4579-97A1-877595C1FE22.jpg

Wow, that's a lot of devices on the dash! Didn't realize you weren't the OP when I suggested forgoing the rago mount, since the OP was just looking to mount a monitor.

At the moment just have the single Ram mount for an ipad during offroading. Just saying i believe i have more options to securing more devices if needed. Using Gaia dor navigation is my goal, and mounting camera for footage as close second.
