So, I've found some dry sap(?) on my paint. They're all dry and cracky. I've tried some APC and citrus based remover, but no luck. Any widely available products that could take care of this? They are about 1" long runs about a 1/8" wide.

Try this. It's called Eraser from CarPro. I had some bad staining on my windshield that Windex couldn't get out but this did. May take some elbow grease to rub out, but you should get some good results, imo.

Goo Gone will work if it isn’t too bad.

Yep...I use Goo Gone to remove sap. On my headlight lenses too.

When it’s dry and crusted on there. You almost have to very carefully scrape what you can off without going down to the paint. Then use Googone on or something like it. At the moment it’s probably just too thick and dry. You could also try soaking a rag with something of your preference and let it sit on the spot.

My sap was dried on after a week in the Adirondacks. I tried many of the products listed and think all worked to varying degree. But my clearcoat was etched and pitted nonetheless. Sap is nasty.

Yeah, I'm expecting etched clearcoat. I'm not SUPER concerned as I run trail in the truck, but OptimumCCR might be an option. It's expensive, but it's much easier than spot painting and feathering with 2k.

    https://optimumcarcare.com/product/optimum-clear-coat-restorer-ccr-

Much thanks for the products, I'm going to head to the local VatoZone and see what they have. I'll try some WD first.

The guys at The Rag Company recommenced this on their podcast the other day.

One other thing they said works great:

1)Get some really hot water in a bucket, as hot as you can stand to touch.
    2) Mix in ONR
    3) Soak towels in it, and lay them on the sap for a few minutes.

They said it will wipe right off after that.

I feel like people are starting to use ONR for everything... Is it snake oil? No. Far from it. It works. But at this point it's like "OH... I broke my leg! Get me the ONR, but first dilute it properly."

I used the Stoner's Tarminator. The sap got ate.

Denatured Alcohol. Isopropyl can be a bit harsh and can leave residue. Denatured burns clean and leaves no residue at all. Used it on my bosses black Ford Escape on pine sap some was on there for the better part of a year and no etching.

Let it soak. It will take some elbow grease...but it will take it off.
