Dow Corning Molykote

An old mechanic that used to let me help him in his shop when I was younger, used Dow Corning molykote for brake jobs and anything else requiring grease. Taught me to treat it like gold.

Do y’all use this stuff ?

 

I’m not generally real particular about my grease. I usually just grab something synthetic and on sale depending on the application. I got pounced on by the tool guys on another forum for packing ratchets with white lithium when I didn’t have anything else handy. You would have thought I slapped their mother or something.

 

I hear Spam grease is fairly potent...

Don’t knock it till you have tried it!

 

I use similar (Silicone Caliper Grease) on caliper slides/pins and light coat on pad caliper edges and pads

 

Honda Moly 60% paste.
