Hi, my nephew has a 2000 Tundra SR5, V8 extended cab with a double din stereo that's malfunctioning. He's having a difficult time finding a wire harness. The more I look into it, the more I come across conflicting information.
From what I know, the double din has an internal amp so we don't have to worry about bypassing a factory amp. I've read about people discussing stereos that must know nothing at all about them. Any info is appreciated.

Is this double din head unit the factory radio or an aftermarket?

If aftermarket, hopefully whomever installed it used a site like Crutchfield.com to get proper Connectors/Adapters. Worst case scenario is they cut the OEM connector off, and wired it in wire by wire o_O. Terrible to mend in such small areas.

There are OEM radios on the market place here occasionally, and on Ebay if you wish to return to stock.

I am by no means an audio guru, but others here swear by Crutchfield.com for all their Radio needs.
