Image attached. Anyone know if I could replace this cable alone or do I have to buy a new door lock actuator?

Or would it be a door latch assembly instead of door lock actuator ?

I’ve could maybe just solder a piece of metal onto the cable end that engages the latch?

The solder probably won't adhere to the cable.

Is the new cable broken at the latch end too?

    All parts are available individually.

The door lock cable you've attempted to install in the inside door handle appears to be the wrong one, and it will not work. It appears you have attempted to bend a straight pin-like cable end to fit in the round pin hole in door handle. The braided cable will just flex when you pull the handle. You need a cable that has an end like the one in your lock button lever. The cable you need is shown below. The part number is 69710-0C010 (driver side) at any Toyota dealer:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-00-...ABLE-69710-0C010/324420393670?epid=7029167256

The green end of the cable goes to the inside door handle. That cable end looks like an 90 degree elbow with a pin. That pin goes into the hole in the inside door handle. You will have to install the end by pulling the handle slightly "open", rotating the cable assembly toward the front of the handle, inserting the pin in the handle, then rotating the cable assembly back toward the door cable slot in the rear of the handle housing. The outer sheath "green end" has to be installed in the cable slot notch of the handle housing.

The white end of the cable goes to the door lock assembly, and has a short barrel-shaped cable end. I suspect the door lock will have to be removed from the door to install the cable. If this is beyond your skills, you may need to get some help locally.
