Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum. Glad to be here and thanks for having me. I ordered the Amp upgrade harness from Autoharnesshouse and was gonna use it until I found out about about Tech12Volts harness that is a bit more plug and play.
In short I gave the harness to my buddy so he could use it for an amp upgrade as well on his 2020 tundra since the Tech12Volts harness will be at my house on Monday. We followed the wiring diagrams and triple checked all connections but couldn’t get his amp to power on, through the trouble shooting process of switching between the 12v remote and 12v constant wire we shorted his ECU-ACC fuse located in the panel under drivers dash(no power to head unit or power mirrors). He went and got a new fuse today(all previous problems fixed) So we could do another attempt at his install and now his door speakers don’t work!! Smh. Did we short another fuse that we weren’t aware of? Head unit is working fine but is only pushing signal to dash speakers now(powered by HU). Does anyone know of a fuse location for the door speakers? Or did we fry all the door speakers we we caused the short. Short was caused when we pulled 12v remote wire from amp it touched the power cable from battery. Amd yes...we know we are dumbasses for not disconnecting the battery first. Hindsight is 20/20. Thanks for any help you guys can offer. I kinda feel bad for my buddy and would like to help him fix the issue.

EDIT: We replaced factory amp until we figure out the the wiring issues with factory amp, door speakers still don’t work.

I’ve read this whole thread about 5 times. Unfortunately it doesn’t fix the current problem of door speakers not working. I guess I should have mentioned that the factory amp is back in right now since we couldn’t get the new amp to work. Door speakers aren’t working still after replacing factory amp. Any idea about door fuses in a 2020?

Did you check the amp fuses?

That’s my main question, We can’t find anything that’s labeled amp fuse in either fuse box. Do you happen to have a the amp location and which panel it’s in?

He meant the amp fuses on the new amp.

Ok, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Amp fuses are good on aftermarket amp. But that can’t be the issue since we have switched back to the factory amp and no longer have any output from door speakers, with factory amp. Any ideas?

I know there’s a radio fuse under the hood, and I don’t think there’s a fuse in the back of the head unit for the remote wire. I would test the power from the remote wire to see if there’s power there first. Then work your way back to the head unit.

I never got my Infinity Kappa 5 amp to power on with the remote turn-on wire in the factory/DSR-1 harness and so I depended on the auto-power on feature that turns it on when it detects a signal from the HU. It works but sometimes shuts the amp down at low volumes and obviously doesn't help you if your amp doesn't have a similar feature. Which aftermarket amp do you have?
