Door sill armor

Not long after I bought my truck I invested in the OEM stick on fairly decent door sill protectors for around $60 IIRC. Kinda went back and forth between them and the aftermarket aluminum diamond plate. As with many online purchases, the picture was sort of misleading for the OEM version and they are not like a thick hard durable plate, they are more like grip tape if you want to compare. Yes, they worked! However, I recently discovered the Bushwhacker rocker panel and door sill protectors and purchased them. They are about .200" thick black textured plastic. IMO, they are far superior to the Toyota version if you want to keep paint on your truck door sills and rocker panels. Just another way to spend your allowance folks!

I have the powdercoated aluminum ones that GTek Fab used to make for the 2nd gens. I had one hell of a time removing them so that I could put them on the 2020.

 

Good on you for also being proactive! You have what I probably should have and almost bought the first time. However, I'm content now and most importantly the others including my dog aren't trashing the paint on their way in/out.

 

Man, those look pretty decent. Wish they made them for the Tacoma.

 

I order some knock off tundra branded ones on Amazon. They worked fine and was 1/4 the price of others.
