A couple of months ago I installed a remote starter kit. 100% plug n play. Uses factory remote. It’s been great except for one issue it has now caused. Within the last couple weeks I’ve had issues with the locking system.

The key fob as well as the switches on the doors have the same issue. On the key fob, whenever I hit unlock once the driver unlocks like usual. But whenever I do it more than once the other three doors will not unlock. same for the door switches.

But. They both will lock every door if they are unlocked(As in if I hand unlock the rest that is).
When I first started having the issue I unhooked the battery to let the system kinda rest in a way since the 3 went out at the same exact time. And it fixed it for a week and now it’s broke again and can’t get it to go back. I even removed the system to see if it would help but it did not. I’m not very knowledgeable on the whole computer system part of this. I just want my door locks to work again lol. Any help would be great! Thank you!

I have had fits with my door lock actuators in the past. My truck slays the motors in them at an incredible speed. If you have any level of comfort with 12v wiring I would suggest pulling one or all of the door panels off of the doors that do not work and test with a multimeter or test light to see if you are getting any voltage at the door when you press the unlock button. If you are getting voltage that is good and that means it is an actuator problem, and here is two very specific posts that I have used to fix my all my actuators more than once,

If you are getting no voltage at the door, then there is something happening in the rest of the wiring and I am very unqualified to help you with that.

Do a voltage test though, then you and others can have a better idea of how to track down where the issue is occurring.
