The says you are driving the truck to do things you want to do and the wife hops in... "oooh can we go look at plants and then to my moms..."

    And then....

    Wants to bring the dog?
I flipping hate driving with the dog... I don't think it's safe and I dote like little nose prints in my windows!

Uhhh I'm so annoyed I could've been home two hours ago.

I'm with @RowdyRon be glad she wants to spend time with you. I like my alone time every now and again, but I USUALLY (not always I admit) give that up if doc wants to talk or come with me and hijack my trip to the range with a "plant shopping finisher" LOL

At least she shoots guns with me before the hijack!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: So I don't complain. It's all bonding and all good!

As for nose prints on the windows.....I roll them down AND keep a few dry terry towel in the truck JUST for that LOL

I can attest to "you'd better enjoy the time she wants to spend with you now." I've been married almost 24 years now and my wife doesn't do that kind of stuff anymore. Like someone said already, "life is short, enjoy the ride".

I would love my wife to hop in the truck and go do a flower run. She usually sends me to Home Depot to get the flowers, then I have t plant the flowers, then after it's all done, she says looks nice. WTH, I'm not your personal landscaper.

Hahahaha I get it! Today wasn't the day I guess. Normally I'm good and don't complain too often.

I think I just wanted to hang out with my grandson- just me and him and didn't get to do it

The blushing bride and I have only been together 40 years, but still trying to do the same stuff we did. Some of that stuff goes a lot faster and some takes a lot longer!
So the minor annoyance comes from her passion for gardening; if I'm not watching out there's plant starts on the kitchen countertops and I'm worried about my pool table. I figure it's my fault cause I haven't built her a green house.
    Yet.

Definitely a two way street! Me and the doc can be persistent when it comes to asking each other to do something. I guess communication and keeping the monkey on each other's backs does work LOL

I guess I could be more persistent with her about doing stuff together. Especially stuff I like to do. I barely ask cause I know what she'll say.

Bro, don't stop. The time and experiences that you share are the things that build the memories that will keep you together for years to come. Just find a way to make sure the time is good for you both. Get into identifying birds while you're glassing for elk, for example. Or identifying plant and flower species while looking at deer and elk sign.

I don't like to do half the things doc does and visa versa, but we've found trying new things and being open to new experiences brings up new hobbies between the two of us. Brought doc to a minor league baseball game since she had never been to a game and doesn't even like sports...she ended up loving it, she's taken up working out (with weights) so now we work out together instead of me hitting the iron alone. Hiking instead of hunting, kayaking instead of fishing, we'll even take day drives through different subdivisions and see what houses we like, run to Home Depot/Lowes and talk about what cabinets, housing projects we like all the way down to paint color and talk about our dream home and what we want out of it..things like that that both of you can get behind and enjoy as a couple.

Hell, if I got doc to come with me to the range, you can get your wife to do some stuff! LOL

I suppose you're right. The challenge is I'm disabled and cannot do a lot of things. Even going to the movies is very hard for me (sitting and standing are the two hardest activities I can do). My back keeps me from doing a lot. But I can recommit and look for other things that we could do together.
