Put e eated 295/60/20 on my truck to support my FWC.

Lost about 4 mpg. I have 2 questions

    1) I am running ~35 psi average, will higher pressure lead to higher milage
    2) since I'm already running at ~12 mpg. Has the hit already be felt? Is it safe to assume I wont see any additional ill effects of leveling? I have been noodling doing 5100s.

Bonus - would going to a lighter wheel help with unsprung weight and see a little boost in milage.

I am happy with the truck, and milage believe it or not - just curious...

    Thanks!

Lighter wheels and higher pressure will definitely help with gas consumption. You’ll never be a Prius.

    Thanks - totally agree.

Any thoughts on the leveling kit?

I’m trying to figure out how you stuffed 34” tires on a stock height rig. Any pics?

I agree going to 5100 wouldn’t change much (if anything) at this point but there is still MPG to be lost with the right mods! Think bigger tires, sliders, armor… we will have you down to 10mpg by the time this is over.

I’ve found 40 psi to be a nice balance between comfort and tire wear.

I have my eye on all of them, but with the truck camper I try to watch GVWR. Would LOVE some nice sliders, tow mirrors.

Maybe if I go flatbed I can save a few pounds. The 81087 is only 270#. On with the madness!

Thank you for the pressure suggestion

If you haven't corrected the speedometer and odometer due to the 3.4% larger tires your indicated MPG in the display will be artificially lower than reality since you are actually traveling 3.4% further than the odometer is registering. Lighter wheels definitely help mpg, but not as easy and effective as lighter tires. MPG hit with heavier and larger wheels and tires seems to affect MPG at all speeds. Leveling will get you another but smaller hit on MPG, but seems to affect the truck worse at higher (hwy) speeds due to aerodynamic inefficiency of lifting the nose.

Interesting, I have not. I hand calculated using On X. Seemed to be pretty close.

That makes sense with the 5100s. Cant make itouch worse than the wind resistance from the teuck camper. I might just do it anyways.

    Thanks everybody.
