Does a 2006 4.7L have a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor? I know is got a MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Rock Auto lists them & I find their listings are normally very reliable. But I can’t locate a sensor that looks like their listings under my hood. I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer on this forum or on Google searches either.

AFAIK, these trucks don't have a map sensor as a single unit. I think they are built into the vapor canister if we have one at all???

I am also talking out of my ass sorta

Why do you think Rock Auto, Advance Auto, O’Reilly, AutoZone, & even Toyota.com parts all have listings for MAP sensors for it? I guess they might all be using the same search engine? Did Toyota eliminate the MAP sensor when they went to the VVT engine in 2005 or did they never have one?

The parts stores list Denso part # 198-1003 or 1981003 and other brand options. Toyota.com parts lists 89421-71010

Iirc the 05+ vvti 4.7 has a map sensor because it has the variable length runner intake manifold.

    It also has a MAF.

By “05+” I assume you mean the 2005 & 2006 4.7L have MAP sensors. If so, can you tell me where it’s located?

    Yes, 2005 & up VVT-i 4.7L.

I think it's on the pass side of the intake manifold but could be fender or firewall mounted. I don't recall off the top of my head.

I looked everywhere again including the passenger side of the intake, the fender, & firewall. I even climbed in the engine compartment to check on the back of the intake. I can’t find the damn thing!
