Hi all just got the Dobinsons MRR 3/2 kit put on my 2023 Tundra wanted to see what combination of settings folks are running for daily driving and how you like the ride to be. Are most of you adjusting rebound often or mainly just high speed and low speed? I’ll adjust accordingly off road but wanted to see if there were any preferred settings for normal everyday driving.

I have a second Gen tundra, but the recommended settings from the book were WAY off my for truck. I runs stock wheels and tire size (which I was later told was not acceptable for these shocks, along with the factory UCA), but have a camper shell, bed slide, and 800 lbs of gear in the bed for a vehicle weight north of 7k. I also have an icon 3 leaf add a a leaf and air bags that sit between 5 and 20 psi depending on how I’m feeling that day and whether or not I plan on towing something.

I installed the rears while waiting for the fronts to come back in stock. They ended up with lots of rebound (almost maxed) one or two clicks of high speed compression, and 4 or 5 clicks of slow speed compression. Once I installed the fronts, it was a pain to get tuned correctly. The factory settings per the loading of the truck were horribly bad; so bad that I actually pulled the solid off-road motor mounts off and reinstalled the factory mounts, thinking they were the problem. Every bump sent a resonating shimmy through the chassis, up in to the seats, and in to my chest. It was physically uncomfortable to drive the truck. So I turned everything down to the the light load/comfort recommended settings and it was still horrible. I even called dobinson direct and they just told me that I needed to change wheels to a set with more negative offset, put bigger tires on, and replace the UCA with an aftermarket unit. Until I did that, they wouldn’t talk shop with me. When I mentioned that I used an Eibach 650 lb/in coil (Dobinsons coils were out of stock, and I was told that any coil of such and such dimension would work) and that I had them set for just over an inch of lift (actually ended up with 1.7” or so since they didn’t settle, which means the coil was correctly setup and sized according to the preload instructions in the book and resultant lift), Dobinson flat refused to talk and told me I HAD to run 2.5” of lift or more.

So I turned all the dials back to zero and started from scratch. The fronts ended up with 1 click of high speed compression, 5 clicks low speed, and 6 or so clicks of rebound. I turned down the rebound on the rears a few turns and am still fiddling with rebound front and rear. It makes for a solid, active ride with decent handling in the twisties, but certainly not plush.

I have a 2023 Tundra. I run my MRAs at
    Front&Rear
    LS:3
    HS:7
    RB:6

This is pretty comfortable for me but it’s somewhat boaty. If I’m gonna be on more curvy roads i turn it up quite a bit to give me a more planted feel although it does come with a cost to ride comfort. I run the Icon Billet UCAs, Dobinson rear panhard rod and king rear sway links. Those made up for the boaty feel quite a bit. Also Method 18x9 +18 wrapped in Falken wildpeak r/ts at 35psi all 4 corners.
