Do you have a touchy gas pedal?

If yes, then the following may help. My 2010 tundra was very sensitive. I couldn’t really control launching from the line. Recently I nuked my mass air flow sensor. Suffice it to say sometimes I’m a dunce. Anyway I bought a Toyota replacement part and installed it. Once the computer and it learned each other the truck smoothed out. Low and behold, the sensitive pedal vanished. Now it feels like it should and the line launches are gone.
Just thought my experience might help others.

Same here, changed mine out right away after buying it. It was way too touchy to make it drivable in traffic.

Changed out your MAF right after purchase, or updated gas pedal like many have done?

When you say you "nuked" your MAF, did you cause its demise?

Were there driveability issues before? (other than throttle response)

If you physically damaged the MAF, then unplugged the battery to install a replacement, I wonder if the ECU reset/restarting the learning process has eased your touchy Go pedal without replacing the pedal like so many have done.

Definitely keep us posted on any developments or if the truck reverts back to its previous state.

If applicable you can remove the small shim for free.
I did that in my 08 and saved 40 bucks.

My gas pedal is extremely touchy on my 2012 Tundra. I'm actually surprised that the TRD Supercharger ECM flash didn't correct the issue.

I saw a thread about that after I put the new one in. I also saw the service record where they put that spacer in, don't know why they did that.

I feel pretty happy with how my 2012 functions. If ya stab the pedal from a stop, she will leap into action for sure. But I usually drive the truck like a truck, and really ease into the accelerator for smooth, drama-free operation.

Maybe I am compensating for this hyperactive pedal situation, but the truck seems easily capable of both smooth or somewhat violent acceleration.

I nuked the MAF sensor by spraying starting fluid in the air box. I did that because one of my sons put diesel fuel in my gas can without marking it. I put that fuel in my truck. Truck died after a minute of idling. Thinking the fuel I poured into my tank must have been old, I squirted starting fluid to help it get going. Dunce move.

After having installed the new one and experiencing the change in performance, it makes sense how the MAF could cause a drive by wire system to act poorly.

Ah yes. I remember reading of the incident.

How many miles on the original MAF?

220,000 miles. Incidentally, I had a coil pack go out about 225,000 miles which seems about right for Denso coil longevity.

I have the touchy pedal issue too...
I scare the crap out of people at the light when I suddenly start doing mini burn outs but still move at normal speed.
I thought it had to do with the recalled pedal so I took it in and they refused to replace the pedal because I have aftermarket pedal pads. LMAO

Just in case though, I cleaned my throttle body completely and I'm waiting for my MAS cleaner to come in

YES - i added a Bully Dog Gt (used - so affordable) and also changed a few other things - mainly wanted the display of my trans and engine temps...so was an all in one solution...

it tamed the jumpy start with the pedal...but it left the "tow haul" really sensitive (like it when towing and needing a launch at a start sometimes)

Can you change the Gas Pedal feel or setting via TechStream?

I can't say with certainty, but, I have explored almost every "customizable" function of Tech Stream and don't recall any setting having to do with the gas pedal - FWIW

Same on my ‘10. Fixed the touchy gas pedal in about 5 minutes for $0.

No, but there is tuning software that can. Not an inexpensive route though.

Two nuts and a plug. Takes 10 minutes on/off to find out.
