Anyone have any good products to use for undercoating/rust proofing their truck? Also, any suggestions for videos of how to? Just a little nervous about missing something or getting the coating on something I shouldn’t. Thanks in advance

Fluid Film or Krown are great products in my experience. Had Krown installed by a shop. Drilled holes and put plugs in . Then the following years just get 5 or 6 cans of fluid film and do the the whole underneath and where the plugs are with extension tubes for the can. Looking good so far. Indiana guy so it’s not gonna be a rust belt special under my ownership.

I'm looking into 'Corrosion Free'. Not an oil based product, less mess.

That's what I used last year and will use the remainder up this fall. I bought the starter kit with the cheap sprayer, it worked well enough for me.

I was happy with how it went on and seems to have remained tacky all winter.

Nice. Were there any spots an aerosol can would be better? I'm most likely going to get that same starter kit.

From what I remember, just a few.

Because the canister is attached to the hose, I couldn't get stuff in and around behind the wheels super well. I just did my best and still can't justify the cost of the little cans or the professional gun.

If anything, you could add one can to your order or pick one up locally if you thought you needed it. I used about half of the pail for a full application, so I'll get a second season out of the remainder.

They shipped fast and free for me. They are Canadian, so they was a bonus for me too.

Thanks, that was kind of what I was thinking, just going to add a couple cans to my order. I like that they are Canadian as well, been trying to buy from Canadian companies when I can.

After you add to your cart, you may get a pop up of special offer stuff.

Mine was cans of Nut-Z lube for $2.99. I got a few and use them on my door hinges, lock areas, hood latch etc.

Yea I live in Illinois so I know the struggle. Maybe I’ll just have a shop do it then see where they sprayed and the following year or six months from the first coat, I’ll just re apply it myself. Just nervous about not getting everywhere I should.

What product is that? It looks really thick, wouldn’t mind having that on the frame opposed to a fluid film.

    Corrosion Free.

This was right after applied but it is quite thick. Nothing dripped after I applied.

Good to know, I’ve given up finding fluid film black in Canada, I’ll give this company a shot instead

I used black woolwax and I liked it. I used 1/2 of the gallon I purchased last fall, and plan to use the other 1/2 this year.

I recently used surface shield for the first time.
This is the first vehicle I ever used rust preventive on and have a few questions.
    1. From what I read, Surface Shield is ok if it gets on rubber hoses or electric cables, is this correct?
    2. Surface Shield does not really dry and stays kind of wet, Correct?
    3. I am assuming that it is ok if this spreads (to a point) as I drive the truck.

    Does it stay wet?
How’s it working for you so far?

Working great so far. Yes, it stays wet, but surface shield adheres much better than fluid film and doesn't wash off as easily.

Both are excellent choices, don't hear what I'm not saying. But from what I have watched/seen on YouTube, surface shield seems to be the current leader in the clubhouse. There are lots of videos, I really loved the series of videos that Repair Geek on YouTube has posted over the years. Take a look.
