I have been looking at local Tundra inventory and found a 2025 Platinum that ticks all my boxes... and would give me a chance to trade my engine recall issue away. But these still have TSS 2.5 and as most of us know the LTA isn't very good. Do we know if 2026 gets TSS 3.0? And do we know if that version improves the LTA function?

No. The 2026 model year will not be a refresh.

TSS 3.0 does have improved LTA as evidenced by the MY24+ Tacoma. New hardware & software help with that part of the puzzle.

TSS 3.0/3.5/4.0 are all on the table for the Tundra refresh. It should be 2027 and we may even see a PHEV available. Think Ford PowerBoost but better.

IDK what TSS, LTA, or PHEV is…too many abbreviations to keep up with, LOL.

Sheesh, that's a long time. Even longer because I want a long (6.5') bed and that seems to make any Tundra I want a unicorn... so after a refresh it might be a year or two before I see one locally since Toyota always seems to initially flood the field with short beds. LOL. But I'd love to see a PHEV version.

Losing the 6.5’ bed in my 22 when I swapped to a 24 people carrier with a 5.5’ bed is a big regret.

Exactly. Unfortunately, Toyota makes it *super* difficult to find one in the trim, Lunar Rock color and packages I want in the 6.5 bed. I finally found one... first one I have ever seen. Plat, AVS, power boards. Damn TSS 2.5, though, so IDK.

6.5 bed wasn’t a requirement for me, but glad I found it in Limited Lunar TRD Off-road.

IMO I wouldn’t wait. Chasing tech is a futile effort of continuous “upgrades”. The lane tracing in the ‘25 is pretty good. Doesn’t steer for you, but guides pretty well most of the time. I’ve been impressed with it. About as good as 2018 BMW 7 series and less annoying reminders to touch the wheel.
