I went the legit way and paid for a 2 day subscription to Techstream.

I was able to update to the latest software and relearn the alcohol density with no issues and it was actually pretty easy to do.

While I was I'm there I went through the customizable options, and changed things to my preferences.

I do still plan on upgrading the fuel pump in the near future, as that seems part of the root cause of the problem to begin with.

@53027_RW Did you have to go with the "professional" $65 2 day subscription to do the ecu reflash or did it let you do it on the "standard" $20 subscription?
