Footwell LED lighting (front and rear)

    Parts needed

    1. Cut strips of 6 LEDs per footwell from the LED roll.
    8e674e7d08b05fa563f8e0beaea85d77_e0ae1706e39c3868def4794680593bb6f054f4e5.jpg

    3. Solder the black and red wires the the first small LED strip that will be placed under the drivers side footwell.
    b8394db199dba6af75f2f24d1af2dc3f_9522ef3917816c35bab6213125b18ea184401f07.jpg

    4. Pull off the backing and stick the first LED strip where you would like under the drivers side footwell.

    5. Measure and cut the red and black wires to proper length reaching from the LED strip to the existing location of the drivers footwell light. Run the wires carefully to keep them tucked up and hidden nicely.

    6. Splice the red and black wires from the first LED strip into the wires from the existing light in the drivers footwell. Light blue is positive and the light brown is negative. I popped out the existing footwell light because the color would not match the new ones.

    7. I installed all of the remaining lights in series with the first one. That means that I soldered the next LED light strip (passenger footwell) onto the end of the first LED light strip. Then the next one, passenger rear to the passenger front and so on. Repeat steps 4 and 5 running from strip to strip. Run the wires under the carpet, and up the rear supports of the front seats for a clean install.

    8. The last step is to make sure all of the wires are hidden for a clean install. With them being tied into the existing drivers side footwell light, they turn on when the door is opened and turn off a few seconds after the door is closed.

Ran the wires under the carpet, and up the rear supports of the front seats. All of them are tied into the one small little light on the drivers side. I don't remember exactly what guage i had but i believe it was around 18 gauge.

    4000k is white
5000K should have a very slight tint of blue
6000k should have a little more blue

Not sure if i have 5000k or 6000k.

Anyone ever just replace the existing bulb with a small LED? probably a lot less light-but a cheap option?

Exactly. Its only a really small bulb that is on the drivers side only.
What i have done is added small strips to each footwell front and back. Love the added light.
I would put this mod at a total of around $30-$40.

Must be some expensive LEDs! Last LED strip I bought off Amazon was a 16.4ft for $9. Free shipping and I already had double sided taped if needed.
