Ordered this kit about a week ago. $219 shipped. It was here in under a week. I wanted something light and simple and did not want to spend a ton of money. This works for me. Had to mod it a bit but it was fairly simple. Got it all tacked today. Tomorrow I have to find a way to brace it to make it at least as strong as the factory bumper I hope.

Looks good, but I was also digging the plastic-less metal bumper!

Nice work! The dog was looking like he didn't think it could be done for $200 ;)

    It's good
Any thoughts about a filler plates and extensions to the wings while you have it off again?

Thanks guys. The black bumper was a one-day mod, part of my de-chroming exercise. Looks ok but weak as hell and I needed more protection for the radiator so going down this road now.

The dogs name is Shotgun. He was a stray that the kids around here named. Got hit by truck when he was six months old. Broken back leg. $2000 later he was our new dog. Part Pitt, part Lab and the rest Walker deer hound. Smart and very gentle. About nine years old now.

Probably not going to fill anything in right now. I am going tie the wings in to the fender bolt with a little tab to cut down on vibration. I plan on coating this thing with rattle can bedliner or something like it so mods in the future will be easy. Anyone have something they like to use?

Off to watch the Saints now. More progress pics tomorrow if nothing comes up.

Take a look at monstaliner — its a roll or spray on bed liner — much more durable than spray can stuff

    Nice job on the bumper

I totally forgot about pics yesterday but here is one from today. Bumper weighs 45lbs. Used some cheapo Rustoleum bedliner. I have about $350 total into it. Going to add a piece of 3/16 plate from the bottom of the bumper down to where the factory skid plate attaches. Also going to make brackets from the bumper to the frame and tabs from the bumper wings to the fender bolts. That's next weeks projects.
