Need to locate Toy airbag module Part # 89170-0C080 TRW. Not available in Toyota network.
Sent my unit to Airbag repair and they kept for 3.5 weeks and sent back (in plastic bag??)
and my mechanic installed and says it was not repaired. Tried Ebay (scary) but even they
said not available. Anyone had any luck with this part. Airbag place (supposedly reliable/
Honest) said these tend to have capacitors that leak when they get old and thought they
could repair. They kept telling me it going to be shipped out tomorrow???Worst customer service EVER Oh well. buying used me put me in same place i am in.

Are you getting a specific code that's making you think you need to replace your airbag? Like squib circuit, etc?

Lakeland Toyota says they have this part in stock. But used fleaBay could work too.

No The airbag module does not work at all .Airbag light stays on dash. brought to mechanic to see what happens(codes) when I disconnect three prong
connector under passenger seat (which goes to Seat Belt warning occupant detection sensor) Mine has the manual Passenger Airbag On/Off switch ( no
Passenger Occupancy Airbag sensor) which you turn off if you seat child in the passenger seat. I am putting Scheel Mann seats in. if you push down
on seat with your hand a tiny light ( seatbelt light) turns on next to Manual air bag switch. I am trying to get this to stay off as we always wear are seat belts
and will still have functional airbags.

Have you had the air bag(s) repaired or replaced free from Toyota using the recall? I took my 2006 Tundra in last year and they replaced the passenger side air bag. Not sure if drivers side air bag was replaced under the recall.

    Recall date
    2019-10-17
    Recall no.
    19V741000
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
    Recall consequence
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
    Recall action
Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the driver or front passenger air bag inflator or the air bag assembly using an alternate inflator , free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.

I seem to recall that in many (if not all) vehicles, once you set an SRS code, like if you unplug an airbag or sensor while battery is connected, you need to manually clear the code before the light will turn off. This is not something all hand-held scanners are able to do - SRS codes are special, it's not like clearing a standard code.

Have you had anyone specifically clear the SRS codes after the new airbag went in, and everything was reconnected? Not the DTC codes, the SRS codes.

have had Airbags replaced twice (2015 ). Last time was about 1 1/2 years ago. First time went in with airbag turned off .When returned had airbag light on.
Dealer said had something in system not working but could not specify. Believe Module was bad then. Second time went in with airbag light on came out with
Light off. Presumed they had fixed. mechanic pulled instrument cluster and found defective bulb. Replaced and Light returned. The techs doing this highly experienced
and do a lot of airbag work. Nothing was unplugged with the battery on. Guess I could have body shop double check? this unit does not Have reset

My light has been on forever, haven't been able to figure it out also. My truck is salvage so it has been in a wreck. It turned off when I was running the Scangauge plugged in. I would like to figure out how to just turn it off hahahaha

I'm pretty sure I have a bad clockspring because the steering wheel buttons don't work.

if you have an airbag light with no code, the module has been used or failed. they're a one time use thing. only real option is to find a wrecked truck where airbags DID NOT go off.

Which is not necessarily as hard as it sounds ...

My local Pull-a-part locations have several available, with and without controls. Plenty fully assembled steering wheels too.

There needs to be more to this story, or at least a better explanation of the timeline of events.

You took your truck in for Airbag recall, no light on. Dealer says they did the recall but now the light is on. You ask the dealer to investigate/repair and he says 'it's something in the system." So you give the dealer your money and drive away with an airbag light on?

Then your return to dealer "Second time went in with airbag light on came out with Light off. Presumed they had fixed." When you turn the key to on before starting, all your dash alerts are supposed to illuminate. That's an OEM self test to alert the driver if a bulb has burned out. I'm guessing you did not preform this step before paying the dealer and driving away? If you have a receipt and/or work order from the dealer I think you could contact ToyotaUSA and let them know the airbag problem was not fixed, but was circumvented. Toyota takes safety stuff quite seriously and they would probably comp you the repair.

airbag replacement both times was under warranty. Did not pay for repairs. As for dealers, I recently had transmission that was slipping when shifting into 3rd gear. It was more pronounced
when I was Towing my boat with Overdrive switch off. Took to my mechanic shop and they test drove it and agreed. Took to Toyota dealer and asked Tech writer to test with Techstream . After
about an hour forty five minutes young tech comes in and says shifts normally no test needed. However, he gave me a list of six or seven items that needed to be done. Said my brake fluid was
contaminated, Coolant was contaminated, Transmission fluid burnt and excessively contaminated, and Differential Fluid(?) dirty /contaminated. Strange since I had the ENTIRE brake system
replaced 1800 miles earlier .Rear Brake Drums,Shoes ,cylinders and all brake hardware. Front rotors ,pads and all as i tow a boat and truck has 186,000 miles on it. Had cooling system Flushed with new hoses top and bottom when they replaced water pump/timing belt/idler pulleys 4600 miles earlier. Transmission service was done earlier to see if it would eliminate slipping. I asked him to proceed with the Techstream test that I Had requested. Did so and said Techstream Had passed. Should have requested screen shot of techstream. I left. Called Toyota parts department and got price on remanufactured transmission. Got price that was 25% higher than MSRP. Checked online and discovered could buy for about 17% off MSRP. Waited a couple months and when went to buy was discontinued. Bought Jasper transmission with 3 year 100,00 mile warranty (parts and labor). No more Transmission issues. Over the years have had good and bad experiences with Dealers .Used one for 11 years cause the mechanic they had was really good and writer let me schedule with one i requested. This truck is 18 years old and looks and runs like new. Next item to change will be Radiator as it is original and the plastic on it is probably brittle. Will get used airbag module from the parts yard .
