Wanting to add some light to the front of my truck and going with DD. Want to do the fogs and stealth light bar. I just don’t know how much overlap the different light types have. It feels like it would make sense to do the 42” combo light bar with driving/flood and fog pattern in the fogs. Get it all covered? Or would just driving and fog get it all covered.

Probably overthinking it, but curious what others have done.

    I gotchu.

For the fog lights, go with the fog pattern, and don't look back. The SS3 Fog is a tried and true product, and does excellent, especially when conditions break down.

As for patterning on the light bar. You can buy either the driving pattern or the combo pattern, but either way I recommend changing out the outer segments to wide lenses. The flood lenses on the SS bars are quite poor at producing usable light, and have nearly zero forward projection. If you convert them to wide on the outsides, and aim the light bar straight ahead you'll be leveraging the "wide" lenses higher than your fog lights and they will help fill in the midfield whereas the driving pattern alone will leave the midfield empty, and the flood pattern will provide no support whatsoever.

Also, side note, but the stealth brackets that DD makes are quite flimsy and weak. We developed and produced some brackets of our own over here at Hotshot Offroad that are far sturdier, and will help keep the light bar from bouncing all over and aiming up into the sky lol.

Here's our full kits (including brackets) that we make that incorporate the DD light bars - https://hotshotoffroad.com/products...r-bracket-kit-the-better-bracket-14-21-tundra

+1 for @memario1214. He helped with my setup and made sure I got what I needed for my driving style. Very happy with his recommendations.

The yellow SS3 Pro fog lights are very nice compliment to headlights for driving backroads too in my opinion. Really like them.

Awesome!! Thanks everyone. Also probably should’ve added that I’d searched/read at least enough to know I was going with the hotshot rackets 100%.

I'm a little late to the party, but figured I'd add perspective. I have had the DD 42" bar for almost 6 years. I had the bar warrantied once, after I lost a section which then shorted out the entire bar. They stood behind their warranty wonderfully. I just last week finally upgraded to the Hotshot Offroad brackets, and I'm kicking myself for not finding out about them sooner. Night and day difference between the junk Diode brackets and the new Hotshots. I also just did the SS3 Pro fogs about a month ago. No complaints whatsoever, I'm so happy with them that I just ordered the SS3 Max's for my ditch lights, which according to the tracking should have showed up today.

Mobile X-Ray's, here I come! :laser:

SS3 Max and 30” driving. Plenty light up close. Plenty light far away. The white brick house that the light is hitting down the street is 450 ft away. This is also through a tinted windshield.

Before my current LP9 light setup I ran the DD fogs and DD pro pillars. Awesome lighting.

Damn, great info!!! I could probably wait until I order it and read the instructions, but is there an ideal way to wire these up? Obviously fogs to the factory fog switches. But if I go combo stealth bar is it all or nothing? Can the floods work separate of the driving? Wired to a aux switch I add in cabin or can they go to the high beams, would that even make sense?

If you run your fogs to the factory wiring they will only work on low beam. And if you wired your Stealth bar to the high beam (if possible), then you won't have the benefit of using them both simultaneously. I would run the light bar to an auxiliary switch panel, or at least use the switch that comes with it. You could run the fogs to the auxiliary switch panel as well. Then you'd be able to turn them on with high beams, too. I personally just plugged them into the factory wiring. They overpower the headlights anyway. I never use my high beams.
The light bar should be all on or nothing, unless there is some secret I don't know about?

Do the SS3 Pro Amber fogs and you will NOT regret it. Best addition for us country dwellers.

That depends on your year. 2017 and prior, you can do a home made bypass, or get the Fleece all lights module which keeps the fogs on with the high beams. I don't think it's possible after 2018 because the fog lights are controlled by the BCM. I did the fleece module on my '15 and I love it with the TRD Pro headlights and the SS3 Pro fogs.
