Digital Rear View Mirror Issue - Red Tint

Anyone else have issues with their digital rear view mirror. Got in my truck today and the digital rear view mirror was making everything red. Flipping to the non-digital mirror mode had the screen just showing a solid red picture.

Red went away after driving a bit but would come back intermittently. Seemed to happen at bumps so maybe a loose wire?

Does back up camera show clearly?

 

Yeah, everything else works fine. It's not an issue with the camera itself, just the rear view mirror. Even just tapping on the mirror can make the red appear/disappear though since driving it some more, it's happening less frequently.

 

All left to do is take in get it replaced.

 

Not quite the same, but I have head that issue on home ring cameras. They say that the night sensor, I think infrared, gets stuck. Might be worth looking at.

 

I would say it's in the screen part itself. Unless it has RGB feeding it. The red is working, it's the lack of blue or green that makes the red dominant.

 

Connection problem, like you said, loose wire.

 

Line up an appointment it's all covered, yeah it sucks that ya have to burn time at the stealership but it's brand fucking new and they gotta replace it.
I must confess it looks as though your in a Lunar lander and your looking at the Martin landscape. Lol.
All kidding aside man this does suck and spending time at the stealership blows...

The digital rear view mirror uses a camera on the tailgate to display whats behind you. This is useful if you've got a bunch of people in the backseat or cargo in the bed and can't see rearwards with the regular mirror.

I was thinking that the camera was in the third brake light assy. Beside the bed view camera.
