Needing to replace the front differential actuator ( not the transfer case). I've seen a video on a 4runner (this 1 is 13 tundra, i know)and the guy just unbolted actuator and slid the axle back and forth with a small pry bar to align the actuator fork. Seen another video and guy took the whole axle apart to replace this actuator. Do I just unbolt and line up actuator or does axle have to be removed?

Once the actuator is removed you can slide the collar with your finger to position it so that it aligns with the fork. You don't have to remove the front diff either. Just make sure you can clean off the gasket stuff off of the mating surfaces before applying the new one.
