My 2021 is blemished it would seem.
Took off those junky looking stickers 4X4 TRD on rear quarter panels. Came off easy in the sun just a tiny bit of adhesive where the edeges were.
So I gently rubbed it with some Goo Gone. Now there is a smudged haze where some of it was. Based on a friends advice they thought maybe the adhesive was just now smudged on.
So I tried it again and it didn't seem to affect it as far as cleaning more off. Tried waxing over it thinking the clearcoat might have rubbed off some. No change. Did all this to a cool metal and in the shade. Any ideas or advice?
    Yes I'm a dumbass.

Yes feels smooth as glass. What do you recommend?
Alcohol? In me or on the truck? Had plenty in me yesterday ; none on the truck..
I would maybe be fine but the Boss said not to remove the stickers they looked fine she said. Now she'll notice the smear. Unless I park behind the garage every day?

Preferably microfiber, but any clean cloth will do. If that doesn’t work, clear coat prob needs buffed.

    Some like...stuff and things.
Get a good rubbing compound (I like Griots Garage, personally) and use that. Afterwards be sure to wax the area as the rubbing compound will remove all imperfections/issues. I use this every single time I remove any badging to remove the leftover "imprint" of the sticker/badging.

When you say "alright", I feel like if I'm seeing this hazy blemish standing right out in sight makes me sick to my stomach. Shows up really well on the Smoked Mesquite unfortunately.
We dont have any detail shops in our couple nearby towns.

Sorry to say but it is possible that the goo gone damaged the truck finish. I have damaged a few things in the past with goo gone. You have to be careful what you use it on. Also you have to wipe it off right away and rise with water. Hopefully you can buff it out like the other poster said with some buffing compound. Hope it works out for you

Quick, easy way to take care of it yourself now, no detailing experience needed. Should be able to get this locally today. Go to Harbor Freight and get a DA polisher (20% coupon right now). Then swing by Auto Zone (or any chain auto place) and get some Meguiars 205. This is a very light polish compound and with a DA it's almost impossible to do any damage.
Then you will have the stuff to take care of minor corrections/scratches in the future.

If you used goo gone on a paper towel you lightly scratched your clear. It’ll buff out. Buy a bottle of compound and use a soft cotton rag (old t shirt) combined with some elbow grease. Paper towels are surprisingly abrasive.

    Just getting started...
I debadged my '21 today. A microfiber towel and some 3-M adhesive remover and everything lifted off. The decals did leave a ridge that came off with the microfiber towel. I think you're fine.

I debadged my 2021 and had what looked like a haze too (it’s black so the haze was really noticeable). Get some good polish (Meguires or any other good brand) and give it a good polish. It’ll come out and polish up real nice. Then a good coat of wax.

I agree with you, Goo Gone is really harsh. I remember accidently melting something plastic with it once, don't use it anymore, especially near my truck.

I just did exactly what you did today, goo gone with a paper towel after removing a couple emblems. I just went out and looked…can’t see anything wrong even when looking hard for it at all angles.

I did make sure to not scrub hard and I rinsed with water immediately after.

    Hope you can correct it.

I'd avoid paper towel on the paint as it can be abrasive. You're better off with a cotton cloth or, even better, microfiber. The clear coat on these scratches if you look at it funny, I'm told.

I took mine off a 2008. It was tough since the adhesive was ~13 yes old. Applied goo gone to clean up adhesive. IMO goo gone isnt worth a shit. Applied WD-40 to clean up goo gone and remove adhesive which did a better job. Rinsed with meguiars gold class soap then water. Lastly a month later when I had time removed the ghosting of the badges with elbow grease, rubbing compound and polishing glaze.

I’m sure you’ll be fine. Just wash off goo gone residue with soap and water and use a rubbing compound and wax or finisher to protect the paint.

Nice, glad it worked. Now get some sealant/wax on it and you should be good.
