Just signed a deal for a Lunar Rock 2022 TRD PRO. My local dealership posted it and said the original buyer backed out of the deal and it’s getting delivered this week. So I should be getting her early next week. Did I get lucky these guys telling me this is their first PRO to be delivered. This will be my second tundra as I bought a new one in 2008 and have absolutely loved it. Haven’t done the meeting yet with the finance department but I usually decline all their BS. But wondering since this new tundra has way more electrical features if I should get extended warranty? Any other tips? Thanks

Check on the ADM and make sure there isn’t a nasty surprise waiting for you at signing

I’d say yes you got lucky, as most waiting for a pro have been for months and months haha…

As for the warranty, there is another thread floating around with a Contact for platinum warranties at the absolute best price, and it’s well worth it given the issues they’ve had so far and all the new electronic components…

My dealer was at $3500 for a 7yr/75k (I think), and I ended up getting them to price match a 10yr/100k for less than half…

    Welcome to the forum.

With all the issues I've seen posted with the 2022s, I'd certainly opt for an extended warranty.
Unless you have a cash reserve to fix something if it goes wrong after the factory warranty expires.

That stated, I bought extended warranties on my 2005 and 2014 and never had to use them..

There is a member here that may be able to get you a better deal on a warranty but I can't remember his name.
Hopefully someone else will post it.

I always opt out of all extras. Extended warranties are a joke, you have to fight tooth and nail to get them to honor nearly anything.

ive never had Toyota push back at all on the oem platinum warranty

I’ve used it on my tundra and sienna

maybe some aftermarket ones have those problems but the oem one Toyota honors with no questions asked

    1. Yes you got lucky. Take it.
    2. Get the extended warranty but decline everything else, including the warranty at first. They’ll end up giving it to you at 1/4 of the price they initially try to sell it to you for.

My extended warranty paid for itself in one visit and I've made a few.

Awesome feedback, Gonna spend some time reading other posts, only other thing I’m considering is ceramic coating or some sort of paint protection.

Yes, I'd say you got lucky. Look through the thread on the extended warranty so you can go into that meeting armed with a little knowledge. I'm not bashing the 22, as I own one and like it, but damn Toyota dropped the ball. Prepare for the worst and get the warranty so at least it's just an inconvenience and not breaking the bank constantly.....(worse case scenario, I wish the best for you though). I say that assuming you plan on keeping the truck a while.

There's also a thread on here a member put a lot of time into making a check list of sorts. Different things matter to different people, but it's a good thing to look over, many of the things are fairly common issues you'd want to point out upon delivery.

Not to be a downer but your still being sold something and a salesman will always make it seem like your getting a limited time deal that will never happen again.

Getting a 22 Tundra without a wait is kinda a limited time deal in our current situation. That sales guy won't stress for a second if the OP passes; the Tundra will be sold that day no matter what if it's at MSRP.

In this instance it’s kinda true. Especially being a TRD Pro, if he doesn’t take it it’ll be sold in literally 2 minutes.

Don’t get it done by the dealer. There’s pro’s that do this.
