did an Toyota Software update cause the TSS & brake controller issues & bad MPG ?

I was on a couple other boards and guys were also complaining about the exact same TSS & brake controller error on 2014 and other years.

ALL IN THE LAST MONTH…. As new never happened before issues.

I’m starting to think an “new guy”… probably extra smart - did a software upgrade that caused the issue… they can upgrade it remotely…

It really makes me wonder.

 

Interesting because I had that error for the first time about a week ago on my 21

 

They have had some issues with the TSS error last year so it’s only logical they would do some software upgrades …. And those takes weeks if not months to push out to all the trucks, so it would take at least a week or probably more like a month for the software to hit the trucks.

This isn’t something your average spider monkey mechanic would be aware of, and in fact from a software point of view - one Doesn’t want people to know when you do the upgrade or you get all kinds of false alerts that it caused a problem.

I am not going to monitor my truck software… LOL - I’ve got bigger problems in life.
The one nice thing of course is Toyota has some empathy for the customer unlike Ford in it’s corporate culture so they will fix it.

 

wait a minute. They are pushing software to your truck remotely now? When did this start? I’m appreciating my old 2014 more and more every day.

If you have remote connect with a cell phone … in fact I think all of them have it now…

 

I have a pretty hard time believing Toyota is pushing out software updates via a cellular connection.

 

They update your radio and maps that way too….

For a guy who own’s a Drahthaar I would expect you to know these things. .. Jeeze !!
