270 vs SE? The 270 seems a lot more functional can anyone weigh in on if the extra access is worth $500

I had the SE on my Tacoma. If I did it again, I’d really consider the 270. Access would be a lot easier. Getting things out the front of the SE/HD is a pain

Depends what you're going to use it for. I was looking at both but decided I wanted the SE so I could take /fold the tail piece off on occasion for taller stuff.

edit: was thinking of the 180 not 270

I got the 8" bin to hold stuff but the stuff in the middle can be tough to access. I did get the Bedstep2 to help with side access.

Shouldn’t you be able to remove the section next to the tailgate on the 270?

I have the HD with the 8 inch bin for the front. The bin is a game changer.

COIL ADJ5.jpg Pretty handy, I need the SE with the long bin cause I've got a few longer items stored there. The Bedstep2 is pretty good for going access.

So no one so far has a 270? I’ve only ever seen 1 Diamondback on a truck so I know they aren’t that common. Seems better to buy SE and buy Bedstep And a bin. You’d still want both of those with a 270

I really like my Diamondback I just installed but can't put cab seal in until we get warmer temps. Not sure how that 270 is secured at the cab end.

Purchased the jtko tail gate lock so when it warms up I'll install that for the ultimate security.

I am having trouble deciding between the SE and HD. Not sure I have a need for the extra pay load but only a $400 difference.

$400 is cheaper than a trailer. Might as well get HD

I think I’m going to get the undercover tool box if I get one. I just need my basic tools and straps I don’t carry much more.

I will measure mine when I get home, I got the 8 and I think it would be tough to get stuff out of the bottom of the 13.

I’m a big fan of my HD. Helps being 6’6” so it’s easy to grab stuff out of the bed when I’m parked in my garage like this.

Like having the extra capacity of the HD. Mostly for kids having a dance party on the top.
