Diamondback Cover Mount Rack

I was looking at, I mean drooling over, Diamondback covers yesterday. Thinking about maybe starting to save up for one to put on my next truck. They look great, but as I always run into I need to be able to have a rack to put a boat on top with. I could do it with a Diamondback using their cab protector headache rack and their rear Cover Mount Rack.

However, from what I can tell the rear rack isn't designed to be removeable. I wouldn't want to drive around with that rack all the time. Looking at the install instructions, it looks like you drill holes in your cover and the rack gets bolted down that way.

My idea was to stick rivnuts in the holes and then bolt the rack on, which would make it removeable. Any reason this wouldn't work?

That could certainly work. From what I can tell, that looks pretty quick to pull on and off as well. Am I correct?

Is it possible to just buy a single rack to put on the rear or do they need to be bought as a pair?

 

Each upright attaches with two bolts, it only takes a few minutes to remove. We only sell them as a complete set.
