It's much easier to clean & wax without the badges.

The only one I took off was the 4x4 on the tail gate. My 4Runner on the other hand was stripped down.

You can debadge, but its lots of work. Depending on your skills you may botch it. Personally, I like the logos/badges after doing some photoshop debadging on mine and decided against it.

I've removed the side badges but haven't got around to the ones on the tailgate. It can be time consuming but I think it looks nicer without them.

Not sure of your year or condition of paint but keep in mind that if you have a 14+ year old truck and take the badges off now, you will notice a difference. The paint will be much darker and noticeable where the badges were. I also have a 18’ Accord I bought in October 2018. Took the badges off last week and there is a paint difference even after waxing it a couple of times.

But @ColumbiaGorge makes a good point, the condition of your paint matters.

Best done on black trucks, it adds to black truck square footage.

:rofl:sorry lol I have got to say this though for the O.P the older the truck the harder. Just did mine last year and I had to do alot of paint recovery buffing and stuff so you cant see the outline any more.

The badges had been on my Super White for a decade before I removed them, the painted surface underneath the badges are the shiniest places on my paint - the rest of the paint has oxidized. It has taken a lot of cleaning to bring the rest of the paint up to speed with what was revealed after the badges were revealed.

I like my badges. They are badges of honor (of owning a Tundra) :D

'03 here as well, I just did the tailgate since there seemed to be more chrome than paint back there, and even after using a bufing wheel and scubbing the crap out of it I can still see where they were. because of that the sides are staying, but getting re-dipped.

Half mine are broken so when I get the time I'll probably take them the rest of the way off so people don't think I have an "yota Tund x4" anymore.
