Went to get my oil change last during 2022 at Toyota dealer. Was at about 58k miles on my 2011 tundra.
They recommend a new battery and seemed like ok deal and I knew I needed one soon anyway.

but they proceeded to tell me I needed a 60,000 mile service and I denied this because I didn’t know what it was for sure and if I really needed this?????

I will include picture of the bid.
If anyone could tell me if this is necessary? Or if some is some is not?

the total was gonna be $1,112.80 before the “shop supplies”

    Thanks

The maintenance schedule is listed in your owners manual. I would take a look at that and possibly get clarification from the service writer as to what exactly will be performed on each line item. These are pretty generic descriptions.. Engine performance service? What is that? Fuel system service? What does this entail? That way you would have a better understanding of what exactly they are proposing to do.

I just had my 30k done. I only opted for the 4x4/transfer case flush since i tow, i think i paid exactly the same amount.

pro-tip, i always ask if they have any discounts/coupons, they instantly gave 10% and said if i had a costco card its 15%, so always worth asking.

For the age of your vehicle, this may not be a bad thing to do if these haven't been serviced before...Don't need to have the dealer to it. But these fluids don't last forever.

I love how the dealer shames the customer in ALL CAPS. What a POS.

Booooyyyyyyyyyyyyy do they get pissed when you don't play The Scam Game.

Power steering fluid, differentials and transfer case are all relatively easy things to change yourself. I do my differentials and transfer case every 30,000. I have flushed my entire power steering system once and now just suction the reservoir and refill every 10,000. The engine performance and fuel system charges are a scam though.
