Anyone have any recommendations for a Toyota dealership in the SE (AL, GA, TN mainly) that is reputable and willing to work with a customer on suspension/tire upgrades? Looking to swap out suspension and tires on my 20 Platinum I've have for a few months now. I prefer to stick with Toyota as opposed to allowing a non-affiliated truck shop do the work. Thanks

IMO, some techs at the stealership doesnt know anything about suspension upgrades. Better do some research and take your truck to an install shop that specializes on suspension upgrades.

I second that recommendation. Dealers know OEM, that's about it. Find a reputable off road suspension shop.

The Magnason Moss act will protect your warranty is that's the concern.

My turn to pile on. Find a reputable independent shop that knows their sh!t about suspension. You'll get that by talking with other like minded folks. But dealer-------meeeehhhhhhhhh.

    Where do you actually live?

And have you read the VERY INFORMATIVE threads here on suspension? So you're all coached up? Especially on how much lift you can reasonably do before you need to upgrade the upper control arms (UCA) so that you can get a proper alignment. The #1 complaint on here, post lift, "please read my alignment print out. It won't drive right. And I don't know what to do. And the shop doesn't know what to do."

I'm in Bham area. As you know there are a few shops in the area that do installs, but the reviews can be mixed. Yes, warranty was partly my concern and potential issues with the safety features. I agree that no one knows suspensions like an installer that does them constantly. Just always seemed better to keep it in house if you could find a dealer who had someone in house that did that work. I appreciate the input and if no one can honestly say to stay with a dealer then I think it is time I start looking for an independent shop!

Call all the dealerships and find out who does their off-site work. My dealership was awesome (installed my Magnuson SC with no prob) but when it came to gears or non-oem lifts, they simply said they don't feel comfortable.
I called about 5 dealerships asking if I could buy a lifted truck from them. 3 said no, 2 said yes. I asked who installs the lifts for them. They used the same off-road shop about an hour away from me. The shop was very familiar with my truck, having done all the dealership work so I felt very comfortable. They knew all about trimming and molding the plastic, tweaking the alignment, and what combos worked or not. I would have never found this shop had it not been for calling the dealerships. The public focus of the shop was 100% about Jeeps so looking for them to do Toyota work would have never happened.
    I think it's worth a shot.
