The dealer flyers they send out to come in for an offer? They want to sell you a new truck

usually it rambles in about your vehicle being “highly in demand” and they’ll give you “top dollar for your trade”

My local dealer does it all the time. I get a letter every few months. They wanna sell you a new vehicle and extend you financing term.

I get them too but I don’t think they would want mine. I bought it from a Insurance auction.

Sales tactics my friend... Flyers, letters, post cards. All are tactics to get you to bring your truck in. Ignor it all.

Dealers always have "customers" who are "interested" in your exact vehicle.

Yep, my dealer did that. I emailed sales director an stated my truck is worth much more and you know it so why it so why send these bullshit offers at $7k less than market. He said they are sent by some marketing service in Iowa. Well it started a conversation that led to a good deal on a Tacoma Baja. Then same dealer sent me a customer loyalty discount on a Tundra. I negotiated best deal then went in with my customer loyalty discount. They started whining that they were as low as they good go. So I said this "customer loyalty discount is not worth the paper it is printed on" and walked.

They do this to get you to trade it in. Then they sell the used truck at a premium. Dealers make more on used cars/trucks then new ones. So if you are in the market and it’s a dealer you use, then no harm in doing numbers. Just don’t expect some great price for your trade, you won’t get it.

If you have a credit score above room temperature they most definitely would want to high pressure you into the vehicle of your dreams. Comes complete with a big stack of new payments.
    It ain’t about your truck.
