So I'm in the market to buy a tundra and trade in my 2022 Silverado after so many ongoing issues. I came across this Limited for $43k with 51k miles. Dealership is offering lifetime warranty on all their vehicles under 80k. Is this price too good to be true? I check carfax and no accident history so wondering why the price is so low.

The retail price is close to spot on for a 2WD limited. I'm wondering if the "savings" is a lot of incentives that most people don't qualify for. That's my guess with the "as low as" line.

That's alot of miles compared to the rest of the market. It's 2wd. The lifetime warranty things tend to have a bunch of fine print making them almost worthless. Alot of dealers like to advertise a low price, then make the money back through your trade in and payments. Unless you've sat down and gotten numbers in writing (including your trade value) and read the warranty terms, the advertised price means very little.

I'm not looking to inflate, or burst your bubble. But you asked a question and I'd just like to help out as much as possible.

No I appreciate your feedback. I think it would be better to just pay $54k for a low milage limited. Something seems off about that price

Most times, it's too good to be true. BUT sometimes it's not. Follow your gut, and at least get a 3rd party inspection

When I buy a used truck I get the VIN and contact the toyota dealer that serviced it last on the carfax. Then call the service department and ask if they could tell me if the oil was changed and when. Then ask if any other warranty work shows up on Toyotas service history. Most service departments are really helpful if you tell them you are thinking about buying the truck. At least you know more about any chronic problems or major repairs. Another thing I always ask the salemen is how long has it been at the dealership. Sometime they have had it for 60-90 days and just want to flip it to move their money on to something in higher demand in their market. That’s when I pounce
