Has anyone removed the small jump seat ONLY? I noticed it has two T45 (I think) torx holding it to the rest of the seat and them suckers are on there! Wondering if it is even possible to separate the seat?

I think that they do come apart. When I added my subs and Kilmat, I had the back seats out. Make sure you do the mod to the hooks on the back so you can fold them down when you reinstall them.

Can you elaborate on this for me? I'm planning to install a dog platform for a 4 month road trip, but I'd like to be able to re-install the seat correctly in the future. Is there something special I need to do if simply re-installing the original seat?

For specifics, I'm hoping to just remove the small jump seat (behind passenger) and leave the larger side of the split seat (behind driver) intact. Is that possible? It looks to me like the large side mounts on the 'foot bracket' that for the small side - did I miss something?

Did you get confirmation that ONLY the small jump seat can be removed, but leaving the large main seat still installed?

When you raise the seat bottoms, the back rest lifts up about 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch. When you remove the seats you will see two hooks on the back of each seat. Take a cut off tool and take about 3/8's of a inch off the bottom of the hooks at the same angle as original. Now when you lift the seat bottom the back rest lifts high enough to pull forward. Not a lot of room behind but enough to store a few things out of view. Why this isn't a standard feature I have no idea.

Ok, gotcha now. Yeah, I had noticed the seat back raising when I put the seat bottoms up, but I didn't realize they were 'hooked' to the wall. I haven't had the back seats out yet.

    Thanks for clarifying.

So, is it possible to remove the small side of the split rear seat, while leaving the large side installed and operational?

I had to use a 3 foot breaker bar to get those bolts out. Good job.

But the back corner will just be floating. I wouldn't put any passengers on it unless you made a bracket to the floor or cut up a donor single seat.

They are tight and awkward to get to. I’m sure you’ll figure it out but I decided not to F around after first attempt didn’t work at all.

Ah, good to know. I was wondering if I would be able to separate the bracket from the small seat, and leave the bracket installed for the larger side to mount to. Thanks for the info.

If you plan to conceal it, just cut an appropriate length of 4x4 and shove up under that seat corner.

You're gonna need a solid pair of rubber gripped needle nose and some grip strength. In addition I used another pair of regular pliers to help stretch the hog rings open but an additional pair of needle nose could be more help. The bottom portion was slightly more trouble as it has more sections of fabric to position when assembling back together so if you aren't good at remembering how things go back together take pics of what it looks like beforehand. It goes without saying that you should take the seats out before tackling the job lol

NOTE: I have never done this before. If you have, then you may already know that the new covers do not have openings for the headrests or child seat anchor points. I slid the covers on completely before cutting the openings with a razor blade. Cut small and widen the hole only enough to make way for the plastic bezel to poke through. You can always cut more but you cannot put it back ;)

I took out back seats a while ago. I m going to make a sleeping platform mod I can setup on passenger side of truck. I have to make a bracket to hold up the 66% part of back seat, and grind on the stops that stop passenger seat from folding down all the way. That way I can fold down passenger seat, and setup a platform over seat. I have passenger seat out now, and was going to leave it out, but my airbag lights is on, and actually, I think it s illegal the way it is now.
