I have a 24 trd sport Tundra with 3,500 miles on it. I have a ticking noise that is on the driver side some where that I can’t. Just picked it up from sparks Toyota today. They said they fixed it and as soon as I pulled off the fresh pavement in front the dealership it started back. I didn’t have time to turn around. Anybody had any problems like this? It’s not really loud just so annoying I don’t even like driving the truck anymore.

Call them and ask what they fixed.

Said they put some felt around the vents on the driver side.

My guess would be the felt came loose, then. If what they did solved it before it's not a leap to think it popped loose.

I have a whistle/scratch/tick that sounds like it’s around the drivers side a/c vent…I think it’s the door seal right there…it’s covered in the thread WIND NOISE…should still be on the front page

Does it go away when the climate control is off? Is it from going over bumps etc..

I’m taking it back to dealer Monday. It’s just went I go over any bumps. I live out in the country. All two lane bumpy roads, so I hear it constantly.

My new tundra started making this noise in the cold. I’m going to pull the “a” pillar off and see if that white plastic piece referenced in other threads is what is making my noise. It’s annoying af on rough roads.

I solved an annoying rattle that took me a while to find. It was something in my A pillar. I ran sound deadening tape I got off Amazon down the inside of it and put some around anything that might rattle. Worked perfect the a pillar comes off with two bolts, very easy.

No, on or off, vents open/closed, rear vents closed etc. it’s constant on paved road/highway, definitely seems wind/air related not bump related.

I took my Pilar’s off last night and wrapped those white plastic clips that rattle with quiet tape and I’m still hearing it. This is a long shot but do yall think the windshield flexing could make a sound like a tick?

Do you have mud terrain tires? When I switched to them I got a crazy buzzing vibration that is similar in sound to when the old speedometers and cables were dry. I just live with it since I caused it. It emanates from instrument cluster/steering column area about 38-44mph

I have a ticking sound when it is colder outside. It appears to be the headliner tapping the windshield on the top left. It doesn't happen all the time but normally when it's cold outside.

I just pulled my pillar cover off this morning and my exact noise was coming from the wiring harness clips and associated black plastic brackets. Grab the wires and wiggle them, mine clicked/creaked just like the noise I’m hearing while on rough roads. I cut small pieces of cotton rags and wedged them behind the points where the retainers clip the wire harness to the plastic mounts. Noise is 95% gone. Only faintly heard it twice on my test drive.

I think my noise was actually the air bag or part of that assembly hitting the plastic a pillar, if you have some soft tape (hockey tape) or tape for sound deadening try running it down the inside of your a-pillar. Rattles and noises suck. I had to run down a few in my 2nd gen too.

I tried not to touch that air bag. Whole thing made me nervous.

I put the tape on the back side of the plastic a pillar, not on the air bag.

Well interesting note, drove in the rain for the first time tonight, just misty and drizzling, couldn’t hear a thing…weird.

I had the annoying ticking sound that sounded like it was coming from the steering column or dashboard. Just brought it to Thompson Toyota and the tech found an aligning pin they use during assembly for the windshield that wasnt removed. It was annoying as heck so hopefully this helps anyone else having this problem.

Mine is caused by mud terrain tires. 38-42mph. I noticed if I touch lower steering collar shroud it stops. So I'll dig around and see if I can add some adhesive foam pad somewhere

If you put your hand on the loose vinyl(?) that's draped between the steering wheel and the instrument cluster, does the sound go away? You described a similar "touch it and it stops" solution in a later post i missed. What did you end up doing to solve it? a piece of foam with double-sided tape might work.

I think I'm dealing with a similar issue and around the same speed you noted that's progressed as my Cooper's have worn (about 37k miles on them now) and the treadwear is uneven. It seems tire-related to me.
