I received my DAP TUNING My Genius reprogrammer two weeks ago. Dustin has been a big help but I wanted to post my situation here as I searched and I found nada. I am getting 3 errors codes during the initial download of the ecu stock factory tune.
The error codes pop up on the 2nd time I turn the dashboard back on. Two days ago we discovered the Viper 5305V remote start / alarm has a CAN BUS interface that was interfering with download and I was told that this was the problem. I took my truck in to the Viper installer today, he agreed with issue and deactivated the Viper system, the CAN BUS interface and the aftermarket head unit. I was looking forward to getting this two week process completed. However after another ten attempts to download the factory tune, I am still getting the error codes. The error codes change everytime, however they show up everytime I have tried getting this initial process done. Any advice or assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Look under your dash, you will probably need to drop the kick panel and verify that you are making a direct connection to the obd2 port. With the viper alarm and radio adapters that add harnesses to the obd2 you may not be able to get an accurate readout from the ecu.

One tundra I was working on had 2 obd2 y harnesses attached to it and I couldn’t run techstream until I unplugged all the junk harnesses.

Only one OBD II port. However I did find a small module with a flashing red light. I'm not sure what this is for. Picture below.

Update. The module is a Viper alarm motion sensor. The installer said it would not affect the ECU. Your thoughts?

That is the shock sensor, it has zero effects on the ecu,

trace the obd2 port to verify it is not a t harness on it. Or verify the alarm installer did not tap into the wiring on it that possibly damaged the wires.
