So I purchased my TRD lift about a month ago and was finally able to get an install appointment with my dealer this week. They called me yesterday to inform me that the outer metal ring on both axle's were damaged. He said the tech can straighten the metal ring and it shouldn't be an issue. They also said the black seal isn't damaged. I guess I should have inspected the kit when it was delivered. I don't think there's anything I can do except move forward. I will contact Sparks Parts today but I'm sure they'll tell me to send the axle's back before they send a new set. Meanwhile, my truck is torn apart right now at the dealer and I'm sure they would charge me to put everything back together. The service manager stated everything is under Toyota warranty for one year.

Id straighten it and roll with it. It's just a dust seal and should be just fine.

Looks like it might have been damaged in shipping.

As for fixing/Reparing it? The dust seal on that axle doesn't look right at all. I wouldnt long term any repair on that but to each their own.
Is it worth the chance of a diminished lifespan of the axle?
Once the tech takes tools to it, sparke isnt going to touch it for a return.

You're definitly in a pickle. I'd see if the seller will even help at all.
This might be something that shipping company would have to deal with and that can take a long time.

That's a replaceable dust seal and it's very common for them to get damaged on new axles. I would ask the dealer if they can swap on new ones for you, shouldn't cost more than $100 including parts.

Not sure if they’re the same diameter as what is on your truck now , but if inside and outside ID are the same they can be taken off easy

This is the route I would take. I would ask the dealer that's installing to replace the seal. i think its worth the cost in the long run.

Sparks parts is sending me replacement seals. Guess I'll keep them on hand if the originals ever fail/cause an issue. I'm sure it's a hefty price to replace the seals at a later date.

I'd be pissed but then I'd think about it over a beer and go with the new seals approach. Then drink another beer in satisfaction over my ability to overcome life's obstacles.

If it's an option I would replace the seals before install. They mate up to the backside of the wheel bearing and keep all the grime out of there, so with a less than stellar seal, you may shorten the life of your wheel bearings. It's not THAT big of a deal but might as well if it's an option.

They straightened the metal ring and sent me this pic. Guess I'll roll with it or inquire about a price to replace the seals with the new ones come in.
