I recently just did a head gasket replacement on a 2004 Tundra V8 4.7L. After putting everything back together Cylinder 6 & 8 are missing. There is also a code for bank 2 running too rich. The idle is very rough but the engine smooths out around 2500 RPM. The engine was shutting down on idle until replacing the PCV valve. I have swapped plugs, injectors, and coils, none of which cause the misfire to travel. Does anyone have any insight on this? My next thought is to test compression to see if maybe the heads didn't seat right. I had them resurfaced and followed the recommended torque specs and tightening pattern. Any help would be appreciated!

Head gasket failures are very rare on the 4.7. How did you diagnose this?

Started losing coolant, pressure tested the cooling system, coolant was leaking out between head and block

Sorry to hear about your troubles! Your Misfires and bank 2 rich are probably related to the misfires themselves. Compression check on bank 2 is a good first step if a gauge is handy. Make sure to get the coil packs hooked up in correct order? Plugs are good? Fuel rail connections and injectors good? Should be hard to get them swapped. Trouble with idle is often vacuum related. Check all the vacuum connections.

Thanks for the reply, I double checked the coil packs and injectors to make sure they were hooked up correctly, definitely would be hard to get it out of order. plugs are brand new, even tried putting the old ones back in, just to make sure. I will do a vacuum test as well, have not done that yet.
